Over the last year, CAFP has partnered with Samara to assist them in conducting exit interviews with former MPs. A first report on why and how former parliamentarians entered into politics has just been published on . Additional information on the MP Exit Interview project and the first report are available on Samara’s website.
The Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy will be taking place in Ottawa from October 31 to November 5, 2010. CAFP is proud to offer seven bursaries to assist teachers participating in the program. Additional information on these bursaries and an application form are available here.
CAFP held its Annual General Meeting in Ottawa from June 6, 2010 to June 8, 2010. An overview of the meeting is available on our Annual General Meeting page. The updated lists of members of the CAFP Board of Directors, the Educational Foundation Board of Directors and the Editorial Board have now been posted.
CAFP presented its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to the Right Honourable Don Mazankowski during a gala dinner in Calgary on May 19, 2010. We wish to thank all of our sponsors. In March 2010, the International Election Monitors Institute deployed a six-person team led by Douglas C. Rowland, C.D. to observe aspects of the March 7, 2010 Iraqi elections. In their final report, they praised Iraqi election officials for their management of the logistics of the Iraqi election and the design of the election processes. The team’s report is available in English, French, Arabic and Kurdish.
