2014 Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy

The Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians is now accepting bursary applications from participants in the Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy.

The Teachers Institute, launched in 1996, is coordinated by the Library of Parliament and supported by the Speakers of both the Senate and the House of Commons. It is a unique professional development opportunity for teachers of governance and citizenship education. Each November, the program brings together approximately 70 educators from across the country, for an intensive, informative, unforgettable week on Parliament Hill.

This year, the program will take place from November 2 to 7, 2014 and as in previous years, CAFP is proud to support the teachers participating. Ten bursaries of $500 each are available to educators who have been selected to attend the Teachers Institute during the current year and who are unable to attend without financial assistance, and such assistance is not available from their school, school district, or professional association.

Teachers interested in applying for a bursary are asked to complete this application form and return it to the Association by September 12, 2014.

Additional information about the Teachers Institute is available here.
