Amanda Lang to address Annual Dinner of Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians

The Educational Foundation of the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians (CAFP) will be holding its annual fundraising Douglas C. Frith dinner on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Fairmont Château Laurier.  This year's featured speaker will be renowned business journalist Amanda Lang.  The dinner is named after distinguished former parliamentarian and the past president of the Association, the late Doug Frith.

“We are delighted to welcome Amanda Lang as our guest speaker and we’re doubly pleased as her father, the Hon. Otto Lang, himself a respected former parliamentarian, will be joining us,” said Léo Duguay, current CAFP President.

“The proceeds of the annual Doug Frith Dinner go to the programmatic initiatives of the Educational Foundation.  These include outreach to schools, colleges and universities to enhance knowledge of democratic values among young Canadians.  We also assist developing parliaments abroad,” explained Francis LeBlanc, President of the CAFP Educational Foundation.  “We are grateful for our many generous sponsors, whose support enables us to continue this important work,” concluded Mr. LeBlanc.
